Pre Primary- Addition Tunnel

Image
In this hands-on activity two paper pipes were used to represent the two numbers being added. Students were given questions like “2 add 3 is equal to” and they drop the specific number of counters, into each pipe. The counters travel through the pipes and land in the box placed at the other end. Once all the counters have dropped, students counted the total number of counters in the box to find the total.

Pre Primary- Jump Backwards

Image
In “Jump Backwards” activity , the concept of counting back on a number line was re-enforced. The number line 0-10 was made on the floor. Students stood on a number, then jumped backward to solve problems, saying each number aloud as they moved. For example, if the question is 7 take away 5, a student will stand on the number 7 and will jump backwards 5 times to reach to the answer i.e 2. This interactive activity helped them visualize take away concept in a fun and engaging way, reinforcing the concept through movement and active participation.
